Your onboarding guide to Leadfeeder

Sign up, find your way around and complete the setup steps that matter most, at your own pace.

Written by Ruthie Keith

Leadfeeder shows you which companies visit your website and which channels bring them, and helps you find new companies to target. This onboarding guide takes you from sign-up to your first leads. Each step links to a detailed guide if you want more detail.

  1. Start your free 14-day trial. Go to the Leadfeeder pricing page and start your trial. No credit card needed.

    1. Prefer to talk to someone first? Click Book a Demo on leadfeeder.com.

    2. When your trial ends, your account moves to the free Lite plan. See Pricing, Plans and Payment Methods.

  2. Tell us about your company and team. Enter your company name, your website and your own details. You become the main admin of your account. Leadfeeder also asks about your team and which tools you use.

  3. Review your goals, ICP and buyer personas. Leadfeeder looks at your website and suggests goals: pages that signal buying intent, such as your pricing or demo request pages. It also suggests your ideal customer profile (ICP) and the buyer personas you want to reach. Adjust them now or later. See Goals in Leadfeeder, Introducing ICP Insights in Web Visitors and How to use Buyer Personas.

  4. Choose your first goal. Tell Leadfeeder your priority, and it guides you to the right tools first. You can use every part of your trial whichever goal you choose. Each goal has its own section under Next steps for your goal below. The options are:

Find your way around

  1. Start from your dashboard. The dashboard is the first page you see when you log in. It shows your website traffic over time, the companies that visited recently, and the companies and lists you opened last. Quick links take you to Web Visitors, Company search, Campaigns and Connectors. Use the menu on the left to move between products, with Settings at the bottom. On a trial? Launchpad in the left menu walks you through these steps. At the top right you'll find your credit balance, notifications, the help menu and your profile menu, where you can open your personal settings or invite new users. To see what credits are for, read How Are Credits Spent?

  2. Search from the navigation bar. Type at least three letters of a company name in the search bar at the top of any page. Leadfeeder shows up to five matches. Press Enter or click See more results for the full list, then click a company to open its profile.

  3. Get help in the chat. Click the chat bubble at the bottom right to ask Fin, our AI agent, or to reach a person on our team.

First steps for everyone

  1. Install the tracking script. Add the script to your website yourself, or send it to the person who manages your website. Leadfeeder starts identifying visiting companies within minutes. See Installing the Web Visitors Tracking Script. Nothing showing after a few hours? See Why Isn't the Web Visitors Tracking Script Working?

  2. Invite a team member. Users are unlimited, so add your marketing team to see which campaigns and channels bring in the right companies, and your sales team to follow up on them. Click your profile icon at the top right and choose Invite new users. See Add a New Leadfeeder User.

  3. Connect your CRM. Send companies to HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho or Microsoft Dynamics 365. See Integrate your CRM with Leadfeeder.

Nice, the basics are in place. Now pick where to go next.

Ideas for your team

Once your tracking script is on your website, a custom feed in Web Visitors is the quickest way to focus on the visitors your team cares about. A few starting points:

  • Marketing: a feed of visitors to a campaign landing page, filtered by traffic source. You can also integrate your tools: get alerts in Slack, or see which Google Ads campaigns bring companies to your site.

  • Sales: a feed of visiting companies that aren't in your CRM yet, or of companies with open deals.

  • Customer success: a feed of existing customers visiting your pricing or cancellation pages.

  • Recruitment: a feed of companies visiting your jobs page.

You're done when…

You've signed up, installed the tracking script, invited a teammate and picked your next step.

Nice work, you're all set up.
