Goals in Leadfeeder

Track the website actions that matter most to your business, and use them in Web Visitors and Web Insights.

Written by Ruthie Keith

Goals track the website actions that matter most to your business, like a pricing page visit, a demo request or an ebook download. You set them up once, and both Web Visitors and Web Insights use them: goal completions carry more weight in a company’s Intent Score, and Web Insights reports show goal conversions next to your traffic.

Goals in Web Visitors

When a visit completes one of your goals, you’ll see the goal’s icon next to that visit in the activity timeline.

Hover over the icon to see which goals were reached and how many times, e.g. Pricing Page Visits (2). Once you add a goal, every new visit that meets its condition is marked with the goal’s icon.

High intent pages are now Goals

High intent pages were created automatically by AI when you signed up. We’ve moved all of them into Goals, so every important action now lives in one place. You don’t need to do anything. Your former high intent pages appear in your Goals list, named after their page URL (for example, /pricing), with the flag icon, and already switched on. We recommend renaming them to something your whole team will recognize.

Custom feeds that were created from high intent pages at signup now use Goals. Custom feeds you created yourself haven’t changed.

Goal types

  • Page visits: one exact page, all pages that begin with a URL, or a group of pages using “contains”

  • Form fills: any form, or one specific form using its Form ID

  • File downloads

  • Video plays

Create a Custom Feed for your Goals

Once you've set up a goal or goals, you can use the Goals filter when creating custom feeds.

  • Filter leads where a specific goal was reached by using the 'is' operator

  • Exclude leads where a specific goal was reached by using the exclude filter

Goals in Web Insights

Web Insights uses the same goals. Its reports show goal conversions and conversion rates next to your traffic, so you can see which channels, campaigns and pages bring companies that complete your goals. If you haven’t set up any goals yet, the reports that need them show a prompt to set them up. See Get started with Web Insights.

Set up a goal

  1. Click Settings at the bottom of the left menu. Open the Account tab and select Goals under Web Visitors. Click Add new goal.

  2. Name the goal and choose an icon: a flag, a dollar sign, an envelope or a laptop. The icon appears next to visits that complete the goal. Everyone on your account can see your goals, so use a name the whole team will understand.

  3. Define the Condition for the goal. Choose from File download, Form fill, Page URL, Page title, Video play or Video title.

Page URL goals: choose how the URL should match.

  • is: one exact page

  • begins with: every page whose URL starts with what you enter

  • contains: every page whose URL includes what you enter.

Form fill goals: track any form on your site, or enter a Form ID to track one specific form, such as your demo request form.

Once the condition is set, click Save.

Note: Goals aren’t retroactive and will highlight only visits that have happened after you have set up the goal.

You can manage your goals from the Goals page: switch a goal on or off with the Status toggle, edit or delete it, and see how many times it was reached in the last 30 days.
