Installing the Leadfeeder tracking script on a website builder

Add the Leadfeeder tracking script on Wix, HubSpot, GoDaddy, Shopify and other website builders.

Written by Ruthie Keith

If your site uses Google Tag Manager, use it to add the Leadfeeder tracking script, whatever your website builder. See Installing the Leadfeeder tracking script using Google Tag Manager.

If you don't have Google Tag Manager, consider adding it now. Many website builders recommend it for adding scripts.

Below are steps and links for the website builders our customers use most.

Before you start: You need admin access to your website builder.

Wix

For Wix, we recommend Google Tag Manager, since Wix makes adding it straightforward. Follow Wix's guide to adding Google Tag Manager, then follow our Google Tag Manager article.

Without Google Tag Manager, add the tracking script to Wix like this:

  1. In Leadfeeder, click the Settings gear icon at the bottom left, then go to Company > Website Tracker > Tracker script and click Copy script.

  2. In your Wix dashboard, open Settings, then open Custom Code in the Advanced section.

  3. Click Add Custom Code.

  4. Paste the tracking script, name it "Website Tracker", select All pages, and place the code in Head. Then click Apply.

WordPress

HubSpot

Follow HubSpot's guide to adding code to the head of your pages, and paste in the tracking script.

GoDaddy

Website Builder 6 and 7 are legacy GoDaddy products, and GoDaddy offers little support for adding scripts to them.

  • Version 6: pages 18 and 19 of the Website Builder 6 guide explain how to add a script to page headers.

  • Version 7: page 79 of the Website Builder 7 guide explains how to add Google Analytics. Use the same steps to add Google Tag Manager or the tracking script.

GoDaddy's newest builder, Websites + Marketing, doesn't seem to support custom header scripts. For more help, contact GoDaddy Support.

GoDaddy sometimes places the tracking script inside an iframe, which stops it from firing. If that happens, add the script with Google Tag Manager instead.

Weebly

Add the tracking script the same way you'd add Google Analytics. Weebly's Google Analytics guide explains how.

Shopify

Use Google Tag Manager. Add it to your store with Shopify's instructions, then follow our Google Tag Manager article.

BigCommerce

We recommend Google Tag Manager. This third-party guide shows how to add it to BigCommerce.

You can also paste the script into your theme files. If you aren't familiar with them, ask an expert, since a mistake can break your site:

  1. Log in to your BigCommerce dashboard.

  2. Go to Edit Theme Files > Templates > Layout > base.html.

  3. Paste the tracking script inside the <head> tags, just before the closing </head>.

LiveEdit

LiveEdit's guide to adding tracking codes explains how. Choose "Code (Mixed HTML Mode)" and follow the Facebook Pixel example, pasting in the tracking script instead.

Umbraco

We recommend adding the tracking script with Google Tag Manager. This Umbraco package can help you add Google Tag Manager, and your web team can advise on the best option for your site.

TYPO3

Add the tracking script to the <head> section of your TYPO3 templates.

  1. In Leadfeeder, click the Settings gear icon at the bottom left, then go to Company > Website Tracker > Tracker script and click Copy script.

  2. Log in to your TYPO3 admin panel. You need administrator access to change templates.

  3. Add the script using one of the options below.

  4. Test it: open your site, use View Source, and check that the tracking script is in the <head> section. Then check in Leadfeeder that visit data is coming in.

Option A: Use the Template module

  • Go to WEB > Template in the TYPO3 backend.

  • Select the page where you want to add the tracking script.

  • Click Edit the whole template record.

  • In the Setup or Constants field, add the following code:

  • Save the changes.

Option B: Use Page Properties

  • Go to WEB > Page in TYPO3.

  • Select the root page or the page where you want tracking.

  • Edit the Page Properties.

  • On the Resources tab, find the Custom Scripts or Tracking Code section.

  • Paste the tracking script there.

  • Save and publish the changes.
