With Dealfront's Google Looker Studio integration (formerly Google Data Studio or 'GDS') you can visualise Dealfront's data easily. You can read more about the reporting options here.

In order to set up the Looker Studio integration you will need to enable it first in your Dealfront account settings. The next step will be to enable a Dealfront API key in your personal settings, you will need it later on when setting up the Google connection (more information on STEP 4).

Here's how to get started:

STEP 1: Navigate to your Account Settings > Integrations > Overview. Select Looker Studio from under the Reporting heading.

STEP 2: Switch the Enable Looker Studio integration toggle to the on position.

Please note: Alternatively you can search for the Dealfront connector from the Looker Studio gallery and click Create Data Source, or just use this link.

STEP 3: When accessing the connector, first click on Authorize to follow Google's authentication flow.

STEP 4: In the next step you are required to fill in your Dealfront API key.
The API key can be found in your Dealfront personal settings by accessing https://app.dealfront.com/l/settings/personal/api-tokens while logged in to Dealfront. Copy the API key there and click on Submit.

STEP 5: Now you get to choose which data to include.

  • Under Dealfront account select the account you want to access. These are the ones that your Dealfront user has access to via the API key.

  • Dealfront Custom feed id is optional but highly recommended. By having a custom feed specified, this captures only companies relevant to your criteria. By doing this you'll already have a more targeted data set to play with in Looker Studio. Click on Edit on your custom feed to get access to the feed's id. Here are more instructions for how to find your custom feed's id.

  • If you want to leverage a sample report to get inspiration what to use the data for, enable Use report template for new reports

Please note: If you are having issues selecting the Dealfront website, please try going to https://lookerstudio.google.com/u/0/datasources/create, clicking the three dots and selecting Revoke access on the Dealfront connector menu. Also, if you're having issues, please check you have logged in to Looker Studio with the correct user account.

STEP 6: After filling out the parameters, click on Connect. You'll be taken to a view where the connector's parameters are shown. Click on Create report on that stage to be able to plug the data into a new report.

Please note: After you've added a connector to a new report, it'll be also available in your Data Source in whatever Looker Studio reports you have edit rights to.

STEP 7: Start creating the report. In case you encounter errors, please make sure you completed steps 1 and 2 of this article to enable the Connector add-on for Dealfront.

Please note: If you get an error "Unknown data source", please click Edit data source, then Edit connection and reconnect it. You can read more about this on Google's support thread here.
