How long does Leadfeeder keep your data?

This article explains how long Leadfeeder stores the data in your account, what happens when your subscription ends or your account is deleted, and how backups and IP anonymization work.

Written by Ruthie Keith

For website visitor data collected through the Leadfeeder Tracker, you are the controller and Leadfeeder processes the data on your behalf (more on roles in data processing). This means you decide how long the data is kept: you can delete it, or ask us to delete it, at any time.

While your account exists

We keep the data in your account for as long as the account exists, or until you delete it or ask us to delete it. We don't delete or aggregate your data automatically after a set period.

What you see in the app vs. what we store

By default, the app shows the last 24 months of visit history. This is a display limit, not a deletion period: older visits stay stored in your account. If you need access to visit history older than 24 months, contact us and we can extend the window.

Retention by type of data

Data

How long we keep it

Website visitor data (visits, pageviews, sessions, IP addresses or truncated IP addresses, identified company visits)

As long as your account exists, or until you delete it or request deletion

Leads, tags, workflows, account settings and user records

As long as your account exists, or until you delete it or request deletion

Data synced through CRM and other integrations

Until you remove the integration or your account is deleted

Billing and invoice records

As long as required by applicable tax and commercial law, including after your account is deleted

Company profiles (company name, industry, size, etc.)

This is Leadfeeder's own company data, not your data, and it isn't tied to your account

When your paid subscription ends

When a paid subscription ends, your account moves to the free Lite plan. Nothing is deleted at this point: your historical data stays in the account until you delete the account or ask us to delete it. If you no longer want us to hold your data, delete your account or contact us (see below). Please also remove the Leadfeeder Tracker from your website, since only you can do that.

When your account is deleted

When an account is deleted, an automatic process removes the data in it. This covers visits, leads, search index data, CRM and integration data, tags, workflows, account settings and user records. Deletion starts immediately. If you ask us to delete your account, our team starts the same process.

Backups and logs

Deleted account data stays in our database backups for up to 7 days and in system logs for up to 60 days. After that, the data from your account is permanently gone from our systems. Billing records are the exception and are kept as described above.

IP anonymization

If you enable IP anonymization, we only store a truncated IP address. The full IP address is processed only briefly in memory (typically for less than a second) to identify the visiting company, and it is never saved anywhere, including logs and backups.

Deleting your data or asking questions

You can delete data yourself in your account or ask us to delete it at any time by contacting our privacy team. For more about requesting deletion and other privacy rights, see our Privacy Center.
