How Subscriptions and Credits Work for the Leadfeeder API

The Leadfeeder API uses a unified credit system that is shared across the Leadfeeder platform. This ensures that your data usage is consistent whether you are using our web interface or the API.

One Unified Credit System

The Leadfeeder API does not have a separate "API quota." Instead, it draws from the same pool of Account Credits used by the Leadfeeder platform. This means if you reveal a contact via the API, you will see your credit balance decrease in the Leadfeeder UI as well.

How Credits are Consumed

Credits are primarily used when you retrieve "Deep Data" (detailed company or contact information) for a record that does not already have an active subscription.

  • 1 Credit = 1 Record Subscription: When you use a credit to retrieve a company or contact, you start a Record Subscription that lasts for 12 months.

  • No Double Charging: During those 12 months, you can retrieve that same record via the API as many times as you like without consuming additional credits.

  • Signals & News: Once a company has an active record subscription, accessing its associated signals, financial data, or news does not cost any additional credits.

Subscription Access Levels

Your ability to use specific API endpoints depends on your Leadfeeder subscription tier:

  • Platform Customers: You have full access to the API as part of your existing subscription. This includes both Basic Search (core identifiers) and Advanced Search (firmographic filters, signals, and news).

  • API-Only Customers: If you do not need the Leadfeeder web interface, you can subscribe to a dedicated API Standalone bundle. This provides API access and a set credit bundle without requiring a full platform license.

  • Web Visitors Customers: Companies that visit your website automatically receive a record subscription. This means you can often pull deep data for your website visitors via the API without using any additional credits.

Managing Your Credits

  • Credit Reset: Unused credits typically expire at the end of your billing period and are reset when your new term begins.

  • Top-ups: If you run low on credits, you can purchase additional credit bundles through your Account Manager or platform settings to ensure your API integrations continue to run smoothly
