Written by Ruthie Keith

Custom feeds let your sales and marketing teams see the companies that matter most to them, as soon as they visit your website. This article collects the custom feed filters teams use most, with step-by-step setups you can copy.

Note: Many of the examples use advanced filtering: AND/OR logic and include/exclude groups. If you're new to it, read Understanding Advanced Filtering (AND/OR Logic) in Custom Feeds first.

Filters for sales and marketing teams

1. Find hot leads showing buying intent

Catch leads while they're hot. With advanced filters, you can find companies that visit several high-intent pages, like your pricing and demo pages, which shows stronger interest than a single page view.

STEP 1: Click Create Custom Feed and name your feed.

STEP 2: In the "Include companies when" section, go to Behaviour > Page URL.

STEP 3: Create two filter groups joined by AND:

  • Group 1: Page URL contains pricing

  • Group 2: Page URL contains demo

This feed shows companies that visited both your pricing and demo pages, a strong buying signal.

📌 Pro Tip: Qualify these leads further with more AND conditions, such as Visit length is at least 60 seconds, or Page views per visit is at least 3.

2. Identify companies that abandoned signups

Cart abandonment happens in B2B too. With include and exclude groups, you can find companies that started your signup process but didn't finish, and follow up with them.

STEP 1: Click Create Custom Feed and name your feed.

STEP 2: Set up an Inclusion Group:

  • In the "Include companies when" section, add the filter: Page URL is your-signup-page-url.

STEP 3: Set up an Exclusion Group:

  • Click "Add exclusion group."

  • In the "Exclude companies when" section, add the filter: Page URL is your-thank-you-page-url.

This feed shows every company that visited your signup page but not the confirmation page. Reach out to understand why they stopped and help them finish signing up.

📌 Pro Tip: Use the same include/exclude logic to track incomplete form fills or checkout processes.

3. Monitor target accounts and ABM campaigns

Track your most important accounts, such as an ABM list or key prospects, and get notified when they visit your website so you can time your outreach.

When you create a campaign with Leadfeeder Campaigns, a custom feed is created automatically to track that campaign's company list. For any other list, follow the steps below.

Dependency: You need an imported company list in Leadfeeder. Check out our guide to importing a CSV file of companies in Lists.

STEP 1: Click Create Custom Feed and name your feed.

STEP 2: In the "Include companies when" section, click on Company info.

STEP 3: Select Company list is and choose the list you want to track.

📌 Pro Tip: Add another filter group with an AND condition, such as Page URL contains pricing, to see when your target accounts show buying intent.

4. Understand the customer journey from start to finish

Look at how your won and lost deals behaved on your website to see which channels and content lead to revenue. There are two ways to set this up.

Dependency: You need an active CRM integration: Pipedrive | Salesforce | HubSpot | Zoho | Microsoft Dynamics

Option A: Compare won and lost deals

STEP 1: Create two feeds: "Won Deals Analysis" and "Lost Deals Analysis".

STEP 2: For "Won Deals Analysis", in the "Include companies when" section, use the filter CRM opportunity status at least one is Won. Or use Company list is Your Customer List.

STEP 3: For "Lost Deals Analysis", use the filter CRM opportunity status at least one is Lost. Or use Company list is Your Lost Deals List.

Compare the visit history in the two feeds to spot the patterns and content that lead to won deals.

Option B: See which channels bring in won deals

STEP 1: Click Create Custom Feed and name your feed.

STEP 2: In the "Include companies when" section, create two filter groups joined by AND:

  • Group 1: Go to CRM and select CRM opportunity status at least one is Won.

  • Group 2: Go to Acquisition and select the channel you want to measure, for example Medium is cpc.

This feed shows all won deals that came from your paid search campaigns, so you can see your ad spend's return.

📌 Pro Tip: Create a separate feed for each channel (for example Google, LinkedIn and organic) to compare them. Add a Page URL filter to see which pages your won customers visited before they converted.
