You can import a CSV or Excel file of companies into Leadfeeder. One of the main use cases for this feature is when you have a list of key accounts, or ideal customers, you wish to then target through Campaigns, our tool for managing programmatic display campaigns. You can explore the other use cases for importing a list here.
What You Can Do with the Company Import Tool
Upload a CSV or Excel file containing company information
Map your file's columns to Leadfeeder fields
Review, match, and complete the import process
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Accessing the Company Import Tool
Go to Lists and select the specific list where you want to import companies, or select Create a List, name it, and click Save. It is not possible to import a list of contacts (this is considered personal data).
2. Upload Your File
Please note:
Supported file types:
.csv,.xlsx, and.xls.The file must be saved in UTF-8 encoding.
Only the first 10,000 entries will be processed; character case is ignored during processing.
The only required field is Company Name (minimum 2 characters).
Avoid leaving empty rows between entries.
You can submit email addresses instead of domains; for website addresses, it's best to remove prefixes like "www".
In addition to Company Name, you can map any of the following columns to Leadfeeder fields to improve match rate: Website (URL), Email, LinkedIn URL, Address (Street, City, Country, Postal/Zip Code), Business ID (Register ID), VAT ID, Phone Number. Any columns you don't need can be left unmapped.
3. Map Your Columns
Each column from your file is automatically matched to the appropriate Leadfeeder field — confirm each mapping is correct (e.g., Company Name → Name). Sample data from your file is shown to help verify accuracy. Once mappings are reviewed, click Next.
Please note: once matched, you'll see our Leadfeeder data (not the data from your file) displayed in the list. Access to full data depends on your account's seat type — see the Seat Management Guide.
4. Review Matches
Leadfeeder runs the matching process in the background.
Once complete, a red icon will be visible in the notification center:
Results are shown under three tabs:
Suggested Matches: partial matches to review and confirm
Exact Matches: direct 1-1 matches with existing companies
No Matches Found: companies not matched to existing data
Click Review on any suggested match to compare your original data with the potential match, choose the best fit, then click Add to List.
Note: you can review matches in stages. To pause and continue later, go to Settings → Accounts → Imports.
5. Completing the Import
Once reviewed, all matched companies are added to your selected list and ready to use and filter within Leadfeeder. You can add more companies later by searching in Target or selecting + Import to List from the 3-dot menu.

If you're using this imported list in Campaigns, select it when defining your audience in Step 1 of campaign setup — see here.
