What is Contact Grouping?
Filtering for contacts in any department, on different hierarchy levels or with specific job title helps you to find the right people to contact within your target companies. However, it might happen that specific contacts appear multiple times in the results. These contacts are linked to different companies. To avoid exporting the same contact multiple times, contacts can be grouped.
Why do Some Contacts appear for Multiple Companies?
There are a few reasons why a contact is linked to different companies:
Register contact: A person is working in multiple companies and has been mentioned in the national registry
Website contact: a website does not belong to one specific company but is used/valid for multiple subsidaries. If we find a contact there, we will display him/her at all companies that this specific website was linked to.
LinkedIn contact: Identification of the exact company a contact is working for is not possible. This is often the case when their Linkedin profile is linked to a group profile instead of a rather specific company. E. g. Max Mustermann claims to be working at Siemens even though he is actually working for Siemens Healthineers Germany GmbH (which does not have a separate LinkedIn Profile)
How are Contacts Grouped?
If contacts are combined into a group, the contact entry (matching the filters) with the highest "relevancy" value is displayed as the representative. "Relevancy" is the quality score for our contacts and is determined by different parameters:
Combinations from many different sources, e.g. website + xing + linkedin, are better than several entries from the same source (several website_any) are better than individual entries
... but individual sources can be rated higher than others, e.g. a register entry vs website_any
more recent, complete data (phone, mobile, email viewed, job title) are better than older, incomplete onesPositions/departments have smaller impact on the relevancy, e.g. a senior in top_management is better than a junior in qa_department
-> TBD: register contacts
Contacts are grouped by:
E-Mail
LinkedIn URL
XING URL
