The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will set a new standard for how companies use and protect EU citizens’ data. It will take effect from May 25th 2018.
At Leadfeeder, we have worked hard to prepare for the GDPR, to ensure that we fulfil its obligations and maintain our transparency.
Here’s more about the GDPR, and how we're preparing for it at Leadfeeder:
What’s the GDPR?
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and was designed to harmonise data protection laws across Europe, to protect and empower all EU citizens privacy and to reshape the way organisations across the region approach data privacy. GDPR comes into effect on May 25, 2018.
How has Leadfeeder prepared for GDPR and what's next?
Our team has rolled out a number of initiatives (see below) and is dedicated to further define and optimise our GDPR compliance. We want to ensure we meet our legal obligations and do the right thing for our customers, while still letting us move fast, scale and build a great product.
Here are the main things we’ve been doing to ensure we’re setting up ourselves and our customers up to meet GDPR obligations:
We have updated our Data Processing Agreement:
Strong data protection commitments are a key part of GDPR’s requirements. Our updated data processing agreement shares our privacy commitments and sets out the terms for Leadfeeder and our customers to meet GDPR requirements. Our customers will find the Data Processing Agreement in their Settings in the tool. If you want to get a copy, please contact us on email@example.com
We are building new features.
Our team is further building new features for the Leadfeeder tool to assist our customers as data controllers comply with the regulation.
The updated Privacy Notice is released with effective date May 25th 2018, together with the claim tool for Data Subjects.
We are continuously training our employees
We have been and are continually training all our employees in data protection awareness. Additionally, a select number of employees are CIPP/E and CIPM trained and certified.
We are coordinating with our vendors
We have reviewed all all our vendors, evaluating their compliance status, and arranging similar GDPR-ready data processing agreements with them, or stopped using their tools is we don't a healthy level of compliance.
Google Analytics and GDPR
Google is committed to follow GDPR as well. Read more about Google Analytics data privacy and security here.
The above is an ongoing process to be ready for the 25th of May 2018 and beyond, and will be updated as changes are implemented. If you have any questions in the meantime please reach out to us in the Chat or write to us on firstname.lastname@example.org
