This support article explains how to filter "Referrer Spam" in Google Analytics and Leadfeeder, so it won’t appear in the future. The reason it’s important to do this is, is two-fold: First, this fake traffic not only spoils your referral report in Leadfeeder. Secondly, it also skews your metrics in Google Analytics.

If you want to see where traffic is coming from (and uncover referrer spam), you should search by source inside Leadfeeder. 

When you see a source that you’re not sure about, check our article of known spam referrers or quickly search online to check its validity.

NOTE: Make sure the time range you select is at least 30 days.

What's next?

If you identify spam referrers, then add these to your "exclude" filter pattern in Google Analytics (as this article explains), so data from these sources doesn’t show in Google Analytics and Leadfeeder.

Then, by selecting these sources, you can create a list of companies in Leadfeeder whose source is referrer spam. Go through this list and hide companies that are not relevant or interesting for you, such as Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

NOTE: When you hide a company, it doesn’t count towards your lead quota and you won’t see it ever again in Leadfeeder - unless you unhide it. So, think twice before hiding legitimate companies.
