Knowing 'who' exactly visited your site isn't possible without them 'self identifying'. This self identification can be done in a few ways including, by form submission, email subscription (our Mailchimp integration uses this), or a chat such as the one we have on Leadfeeder.com. It is illegal in many countries due to privacy regulations to track individuals without their consent, very few people want every website they visit to know their personal information. It is also impractical due to human nature; people use other peoples computers and there is never a guarantee that the person on the other side is who you expect.

We don't guess or make assumptions on who visited. Guesses won't help you and may even cause problems if you start conversations with a mistakenly identified individual. This is why we show only the company and the contacts associated with the companies that visits whenever that data is available. These can be verified and are of great value to you as you can get in touch with the person/role you would typically want to connect with.

We can link to a 'who' if you have Mailchimp integrated with Leadfeeder and they visit your website via your Mailchimp link. This is because they have opted in to giving you their personal information and we can track this via the data Google Analytics and Mailchimp provide. Leadfeeder doesn't read your form submissions or chats even with visitor consent at this time.

We also show Visitor ID Numbers for every visit. With these you can get more detailed information such as if you are getting multiple visits from the same visitor.

Leadfeeder is meant to fit into your sales and marketing strategy. Instead of cold outreach to random companies, now you can take the same approach but to more targeted companies. Typically, our users will reach out to people with the appropriate job titles and from the office location that we show for the companies that we identify within Leadfeeder. This ensures high rates of response. If you need help with out reach check out some of the links below!
