Prospector is a tool to support the efforts of both marketing and sales teams.
Sales teams can save hours of time searching for contacts to reach out to - be empowered by having the right data at your fingertips. When combining Prospector with WebVisitors and our Lists tool, you can get in touch with the decision-makers that matter to you at companies who you know have visited your website.
Marketing teams can use Prospector to build your target account lists based on your ideal customer profile (ICP). This valuable data can then be used to run campaigns to these companies in various different ways, including via LinkedIn and programmatic display advertising within our Promote tool.
Within this article we will cover:
Searching for Companies and Contacts
Searching within Prospector is based on a comprehensive filter system. You can use different combinations of search criteria to find your desired companies and contacts.
When you first open Prospector, you will see all the available filter groups on the left hand side.
From here, you can begin searching for companies or contacts based on your own individual search criteria. We have included the 'most used' filter to help you get started.
Once you have your search criteria defined, you can click Search.
You can click between the Companies available within your search criteria, and the Contacts.
Note: All of the contact data displayed above is from publicly available sources, which is why we haven't blurred it out.
To cancel your search and start again, simply click on Clear Filters in the upper right corner of the screen.
We have gone into much more detail about the many filters available, what they do and how they work here.
Revealing Contacts
Companies and contact names are free to browse within the Prospector platform, however the contact details of these individuals can only be revealed by using credits.
One credit equals the reveal of one person’s contact details.
When you decide to use a credit for the revelation of an individual's contact details, you can get:
Work email address,
Direct phone number,
Related email address,
Related phone number,
Or any combination of the above
Icons present in the Contact Details column indicate if the contact has a work email address or direct phone number available to be revealed.
Revealing contacts without the icons present in the Contact Details column can also be valuable as there might be other information available instead, such as related email addresses (these are often the contact's private email addresses) or related phone numbers (for example the company HQ, or an office near the contact).
Once you have found a contact/contacts you wish to get the details of, you can click on the Reveal details button next to a prospect's name.
Revealing contact details is also possible directly from within the WebVisitors app.
In both of the above examples, revealing single contact details in this way, will deduct one credit from your account each time.
Credits and Billing
You can find the amount of credits currently available to you at the top right of the window, as illustrated below. Credit total refresh on a monthly basis. When you hover over the question mark next to the credit amount, you can check the date your credits will renew.
Every Premium WebVisitors subscription comes with 25 Prospector credits per month. This total refreshes each month, so if credits aren’t used within a particular month they can’t be rolled over. You have the option to purchase more if required.
If you do not have any credits left, you can click on the question mark next to the credit total and click the Purchase/Update subscription button. This will take you to the subscription settings where you can adjust your plan.
Prospector and Lists
You can save your searches within Prospector as Lists. We have a Lists tool which allows users to create and manage company or contact lists and use them across all Leadfeeder products: Prospector, Promote and WebVisitors. You can find out more about using lists within our tools here.
You can also upload an existing List of your own via CSV and search within Prospector for the contacts at the companies listed, or filter these uploaded lists further within Prospector to get an even more refined dataset.
To use List data within Prospector, navigate to the Company or Contact Status filter, and use the dropdown 'Company/Contact is in List' to select the List you wish to work from.
New company lists can be created by adding companies to a list from Prospector or importing a CSV file into the Lists tool.
Note: In the case of CSV imports, a maximum of 50,000 rows are allowed and a maximum of 10,000 leads can be added to a list in a single go.
