Leadfeeder identifies the companies that visit your website and gives you the information you need to decide if they are a good fit for your business. You also get information on their location and how to connect!

Occasionally though, the location may be different than what you would expect.

The location we show is based on that of the actual visitor. Although this is usually the location of the company it may vary in cases of multiple offices/locations, the usage of a VPN, or other factors.

A virtual private network (VPN) is a network that is constructed to connect remote users or regional offices to a company's private, internal network. This means that you may have visits shown from one location that is different than the actual business location.

You can even use Leadfeeder as an example. As a fully remote company, we have a team spread all over the world! Our 'home office', however, is in Helsinki, Finland. If one of our teammates was in Schaumburg, IL, USA and was logged into the Leadfeeder network via our VPN they would be identified as Leadfeeder with a location of Schaumburg, IL, USA, even though we are based in Helsinki!

If you see a variance in locations this VPN is one reason for it! Locations may be based on the location of the person who clicked on one your your emails if Mailchimp is integrated. They could also vary if an organization has many different locations. A great way to hone in on 'where' you need to connect is by checking out the lead's LinkedIn page or website. Often they will list their central office as the main contact place and you can reach out there.
