Building a Leadfeeder Zap in Zapier

In this article we'll describe how you can build a Leadfeeder Zap in Zapier to start connecting your tools.

Written by Ruthie Keith

With Zapier, you can send the companies Leadfeeder identifies to your CRM, Google Sheets, Slack and thousands of other apps.

Before you start, connect Leadfeeder to Zapier with your API Key. Integrate Zapier with Leadfeeder shows you how.

Build a Zap

Step 1: Create a Zap

In Zapier, click Create a Zap. Search for Leadfeeder and choose it as the trigger app.

Step 2: Choose your trigger event

Pick one of two events:

  • New Lead: a company visits your website for the first time in your Leadfeeder tracking history.

  • Recurring Lead: a company comes back to your website. Use this to follow specific companies.

Note: Recurring Lead also triggers on a company's first visit, so it covers New Lead too. Zapier sends company data, not every visit. New Lead sends the company's first visit, and Recurring Lead sends its latest visit.

If you need every visit from your identified companies, the Zapier integration may not fit.

For example, say you have a custom feed for companies where source/medium is quora.com. New Lead triggers when company X arrives from quora.com and Leadfeeder has never tracked company X before.

Recurring Lead triggers every time a matching company visits. If a company visits several times in one day, only its first visit that day triggers the Zap.

Step 3: Connect your Leadfeeder account

Zapier asks you to connect your account. Paste your Leadfeeder API Key if you haven't connected yet. Then choose your Leadfeeder account and the custom feed you want to pull data from.

Step 4: Finish the trigger

Click Continue and finish the trigger. Your Zap now runs whenever a new or recurring lead matches your custom feed.

The trigger sends this data:

  • name: company name

  • city

  • country

  • industry

  • website_url: the company's website

  • leadfeeder_app_url: link back to Leadfeeder

  • visit_length, source_medium (where they came from) and pageviews for the visit that triggered the Zap

  • the pages they viewed on that visit, each with:

    • page_path

    • time_on_page

    • time

    • page_title

  • linkedin_url

Find a lead with Zapier Search

You can also use Leadfeeder as a search step to find an identified company by name or website URL.

Step 1: Add a search step and choose Dealfront (Leadfeeder's former name in Zapier). Select Find Lead and click Continue.

Step 2: Select your account and click Continue.

Step 3: Fill in Account, Search Field and Search Value. Search Field is either Name or Website URL. Click Continue.

Step 4: Click View your lead to preview the result. Then click Continue to set up your action.

What you can do with a Leadfeeder lead

You can send a lead to any app Zapier supports. For example, post it as a message in a Microsoft Teams channel.

Choose the team and channel, and build your message like in the screenshot.

Test the Zap. If you added your email between <at></at>, Teams mentions you in the message.
