In order to completely filter out visitors from Leadfeeder based on page views, you'll need to first create a Custom Dimension. Then from there, you can add it as a filter to your Google Analytics view and attach this view to your Leadfeeder account

The following instructions are based on Google Analytics's Help Center article, except we've added helpful screenshots!

STEP 1: Log in to your Google Analytics account.

STEP 2: Navigate to Admin  > Property: Custom Definitions > Custom Dimensions.

STEP 3: Click +New Custom Dimension.

STEP 4:  Provide your own value for the Name field and set the Scope menu to the desired value. Ensure that Active is checked (Example: If you're looking to filter out visitors who view your jobs page, set the Name field to 'Jobs page', and the Scope menu to 'Session').

Then, click Create.

STEP 5: The dimension number will be found in the code examples shown on the Created Custom Dimension page. Record the dimension number. 

In this example, the dimension's index number is 1:

Before you move on to the next set of steps, make sure you have a Google Tag Manager account.

STEP 6: Set up a Tag Manager variable to capture page values. To learn more, view STEP 2 of this article. Or, follow the steps below:

a. In Tag Manager, click Variables.
b. Under User-Defined Variables, click New.
c. Click Variable Configuration and select URL as the variable type.
d. On the Variable Configuration page, set the Component Type to Fragment.
e. Name the variable, e.g. "URL Fragment Variable".
f. Click Save.

STEP 7: In Tag Manager, click Variables.

STEP 8: Under User-Defined Variables, click New.

STEP 9: Edit the Variable Configuration.

STEP 10: Select Data Layer Variable for the variable type.

STEP 11: Set the Data Layer Variable Name text field to destination. In this case, we are referring to the jobs page.

STEP 12: Name the variable.

STEP 13: Click the Save button on the top right corner.

If you have not yet set up your Universal Analytics tags to use the Google Analytics Settings variable, it is recommended that you do so. The following steps show you how to do so:

STEP 14: On the Workspace Overview screen, click New Tag

STEP 15: Edit Tag Configuration.

STEP 16: Choose Google Analytics - Universal Analytics.

STEP 17: Select the desired Track Type. In this case, select Page View. 

Then, under the Google Analytics Settings menu, choose the Jobs Page Custom Variable you created earlier (starting from STEP 7). 

Lastly, under Triggering, choose the Trigger you set up for just pages that include "/jobs/" in the URL.

STEP 18: Create a new Google Analytics Settings Variable

STEP 19: Once STEP 17 is completed, click Variables and then click on your newly created Google Analytics Settings variable.

STEP 20: Edit Variable Configuration.

STEP 21: Click More settings > Custom Dimensions > + Add Custom Dimension.

STEP 22: Enter the Index value that you captured in Step 5

And, for Dimension Value, enter the name of the variable that you created in STEP 12.

STEP 23: Click the Save button on the top right corner.

STEP 24: You must publish your container for the changes to take effect. Click Submit.

Click Publish.


Now that you've created this Custom Dimension, you can now use it as a filter option within your Google Analytics view to filter out visitors in your Leadfeeder based on page views.
